@helloshelly7969! I have anxiety too; it is a comorbid condition to chronic pain. Talk to your doctor about anyi-anxiety meds such as xanax, ativan, klonapin. The non-addicting buspar is also available. I had to try a few before settling on klonapin. The thing to remember is not to take narcotics at the same time as anti-anxiety meds. That can be very dangerous. It is best to space them out or have a regular schedule. Your doctor may want you to see a psychiatrist to prescribe the meds. It is not counseling, just med prescribing. Controlling anxiety and depression, I find, lessens my chronic pain. Acupuncture may also be helpful. Good luck to you. We care.

Thank you for your reply and information. Currently, I am using Valuim at night, as my pain seems to worsen after sunset and interrupts my sleep. I get about four hours of uninterrupted sleep using it and wearing my wrist splints. However, am looking into a splint for my thumbs to wear while sleeping as they are waking me now too. My shoulders wake me too and have not figured out how to prevent it. I will ask my Rheumotologist about the drugs you mentioned. Luckily I have an appointment on Monday. Thanks again and have a great day.
