I have learned that my recovery story is really a love story. My wife works so hard for us because she loves me, so the least I can do is work equally hard at recovering because I love her.

Plus, I thank God every day for bringing her into my life!

Scott, that really is a great love story. It shows why it’s so valuable to go through life as a team so you can motivate and support each other. A burden shared is a burden halved. A joy shared is a joy doubled.

Suddenly, the image of a three-legged race just popped into my head. With marriage, you both have one free leg to bring your uniqueness and strengths into the relationship, but you only move forward when the legs tied together (marriage) move in lock step. You two are both moving the other forward. Your team is in the lead! 🙂
