My Daughter's cyst growing at the bottom of her brain
Hi there everyone, My daughter's cyst needs to be removed from the bottom part of her brain at some stage as it is growing. The surgeon doesn't want it cutting off the spinal fluid going to her brain as an end result if not removed. I am wondering if anyone else has had this done , she is 30 years old with a 3 year old and a 9 month baby. Thankyou for taking the time to read this. Take Care Everyone

I am going to say a special prayer for you and your family and especially for your daughter. I highly recommend Mayo Clinic Minnesota and Dr Marsh for her surgery. He did my surgery and it was successful. They did an article in their newspaper about my surgery. Go to Mayo Clinic/Steve GRINSTEAD if you would like to read the article. Minor corrections: they said that the operation was 4 hours, it was 8. They said that I came back to Minnesota for follow up, I did not. They own the newspaper, they can make it seem as good as they want! Again you, and all suffering people like yourself and your daughter are in my prayers. Steve
Thankyou so so much, really appreciate your very kind thoughts . We are in Australia and glad to hear you are safe and sound. Take care
Hello, Our 11 yr old daughter had surgery in March of this year as her brain was cascading through the base of her skull. The same concern about spinal fluid traveling to her brain was a portion of the concern. While there was not cyst, not addressing it meant that a cyst could appear and her symptoms (headaches and lack of breathing during sleeping) may continue to worsen. We had surgery removing the top vertebrae, a portion of her skull and then the lining of her brain was cut and a patch put in to give her more room. The surgery went fantastic and her recovery has as well. Mayo in MN was super - they have so much knowledge and do this routinely. I will be sending prayers for answers for you and your family. I know that the 6-8 months once we understood what was going were some of the hardest days of my life. Counseling, prayers and support from my family was the only way I made it through. Blessings to you.
Oh my goodness.... what a journey your family have had. I am so glad to read that all went well for your beautiful little girl. Thankyou so much for taking the time to email me i really do appreciate it. We are in Australia and find this group amazing wonderful support, I would be lost without it now. I might look up if Mayo are in Australia as well and have doctors here. Take care and sending a big hug.
