Where do you want to grow old?
People have many options for living arrangements as an older adult, like living in a house with a group of friends (think Golden Girls), going to a 55+ community, or staying in your own house.
What are your plans? Where do you want to grow old?
or
What choice did you make? What are the the pros and cons of your arrangement?
What advice do you have for others?

Thank you @sirref! This is very helpful.
Best to always have some plan, if it works fine, if not fine again…we are not god to know anything about our future or that of our loved ones…so a loose plan is always a good thing. Then as things happen, we pivot, adjust & do what we need to do!! Gratefully, M
Thank you. But it's hard to plan when my husband will not. I pray everyday for God's will. Maria.
It's best to live in an independent living facility like Sagewood in northeast Phoenix.
They are very costly so what other arrangements can you make especially if your income is low. After my hubby passed my income was cut completely in half so I am not in a good position.
I live alone in a apartment building and have no fami,y members near me, I still able to everything by my self but I know the day is coming when I can’t. I plan to stay in my apt and will have to hire people to help me.I am not looking forward to the day I have to give up driving I have always been independent. Ii guess I will also have to hire someone to visit once in a while as I am lonely now but at least Ivan go to the mall and have a coffee hoping to meet someone I know.I am 88 in still pretty good health, I have volunteered for many years, my eyes arenot that good so I can’t read much.any I have out lived most of my friends. Any ideas are welcomed.
I don't want to grow old? Oh wait, yes, maybe I do. That is a benefit of living! 🙂
As they say, "Don't resent growing old. It is a privilege denied to many."
You sound like you are doing pretty good right now. Maybe, join a church and see what activities it has to offer...wish you all the best !
Try your senior center in town for more activities. You sound like you are doing great. Maybe you could call around town and find out what the next step is for getting into assisted living for when the time comes. Would you consider moving by relatives in the future? Just food for thought.
I agree with the church idea. Pat
