Starting my recovery-Day 1

Medical Marijuana is believed to have contributed to a pulmonary embolism I had about ten years ago.

I was smoking daily for three years straight. I was also on a lot of other prescription at the time, so there’s that.

I no longer touch drugs or alcohol of any kind and hope to be off all prescription meds soon.

My thinking is this:

There is no upside to alcohol, the research is in. Getting drunk might be fun, but for me the negatives are too daunting,

Cannabis because it is still Federally illegal has not been adequately researched. What research we do have is equivocal, Plus it makes me lazy and stupid or anxious and paranoid depending on the strain.

The biggest mistake I have ever made in my life, and I’ve made some big ones, was living unconsciously.

Better to feel the horror and the joy than to just have things happen to me.

I will also state that this is my opinion only and It is not meant as a recommendation of any kind.

I have found diet, exercise and stress reduction (often requiring psychotherapy) to be the best treatment for all of my many health problems, mental and physical.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I nice walk might help if you’re up to it.

Be well!
