Anyone have updates on clinical trials for peripheral neuropathy?

Posted by snagydude @snagydude, Oct 6, 2023

I've tried lyrica and gabapentine. These don't work well for me. Wondering if anyone has news on upcoming drugs that might work.

@snagydude, The only one I'm aware of is the WinSantor drug Pirenzepine. There is another discussion on the drug here - Is there any update on Winsantor drug?: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/is-there-any-update-on-winsantor-drug/.

The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy is another place to look for the latest research information. Here's a link to their Blog on research - https://www.foundationforpn.org/blog/. I received notice in an email from the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy of a new clinical trial for diabetic neuropathy that might be of interest for members in USA, Canada, France, and Spain.
-------------------------
We are excited to share an opportunity for those affected by Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (DPNP). If DPNP disrupts your daily life, consider joining the NEPTUNE-17 trial hosted by our partner, GSK. This study assesses a new investigational drug for DPNP, aiming to alleviate pain and improve quality of life.

Eligibility:
• Age 18 to 75
• Diagnosed with Type I or II diabetes and DPNP for at least 6 months
• Ongoing nerve pain despite treatments

Additional requirements will be reviewed by the study doctor. Participants receive study-related medical care and treatment at no cost.

Visit NEPTUNE-17 Study to see if you qualify. This site is available in the USA, Canada, France, and Spain.
