If anybody has problems with anesthesia
I have a thyroid nodule that I need to have a biopsy on. If it comes back positive I’ll have to have my thyroid removed. They will have to put me under anesthesia. I got this neuropathy when I took a muscle relaxer, which they say suppresses the central nervous system. I’m afraid if I go on the anesthesia it’s going to suppress my nervous system and make my neuropathy really bad or possibly something else I don’t want to say. Kind of a bad situation just wondering anybody that has neuropathy that has had surgery was able to have something else besides general anesthesia. My guess is probably not.

Thanks for sharing with that man good to know.
I had lots of trouble after a general anesthetic 5 years ago which turned out to be ketamine. I couldnt' sit or stand without help for a month. lI had surgery again this spring and the anesthesiologist used something different. I was left with an unusal amount of pain, but that has subsided over time. Be sure to tell your surgeonl about your concerns and whether you've had trouble with any kind of anaesthesia before. I now tell any dr and time I undergo kind of procedure, even local numbing. My surgeon was very understanding and willing to deal with my concerns. I hope yours is too.

I awaken from a 2016 kidney robotic surgery with poly neuropathy. It’s been about the same for 7 years. I’ve been reading people developing paralysis. Our is the mobility after 30 years?
Welcome @barbara5270, Sorry to hear you developed polyneuropathy following your surgery. Do you mind sharing a little more about your symptoms and any treatments you have found helpful?
