My Integrative Medicine doctor recommended that I try acupuncture for osteoarthritis. She suggested that I go to this website to find a practitioner who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine:

Anyone who practices acupuncture in my state (Michigan) is required to be licensed by our state board. I hope this is also the case where you live.

I personally did not notice much result other than relaxation and feel calm. It turned out, though, that the pain I was experiencing was from a sacral fracture that I did not know I had. Now that the fracture has healed much of the discomfort has gone away. So, I may try acupuncture again for the osteoarthritis.
