Welcome to Mayo Connect!
I’m sorry to hear what you have been through since age 10.
It sounds as if you have had thorough testing done.
I was going to suggest Cushing’s but then I read your last sentence.
Hashimoto’s often exist with other autoimmune illnesses- celiac disease being a common one. Were you actually tested for celiac disease or just avoiding gluten? If not, then you should be tested.
Weight gain without reason is common with autoimmune diseases. I have experienced the same. Suddenly gaining 1-2 lbs a week while watching my diet.
Such a large weight gain that you have experienced makes me think of Cushing’s. The same happened to my daughter at same age- she eventually was diagnosed with Cushing’s. I don’t know how you were tested but often it is recommended to test at certain intervals since the the cortisol levels can come and go. As far as I know, the best testing is a 24 hr urine for free cortisol.
Your GI symptoms may just be part of your basic illness since they didn’t find anything on colonoscopy.
Are you being followed by Endocrinology and Gastroenterology?
Have they tested all possible hormones?
Is PCOS still a problem?

I got diagnosed with Hypothyroid in 1998, My meds has been changed so much with brands and dosages. No other test was done till 2024 and I was told I have Hashimoto's, My weight has gone from 174 to 215 at 5ft tall, I then had Gastro Sleeve surgery 6 years ago got down to 165 Yeahhhh and kept the weight off, The I decided to do Liposuction to my Hips and Thighs (weight has not return to these areas) , Weight gain again Errrrr, I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago now I am at 198. Plus I was only see a regular doctor not a specialist. Now I have a Endocrinology but still wont help me figure out what is causing so much weight gain. I watch what I eat, make sure I eat small amounts, Dont eat late at night nothing past 6pm most of the time and defiantly nothing after 7pm. I also have GI issues No gallbladder doesn't help but once I had colon issues I now have a and Gastroenterology specialist. I have problems when I eat and it doesnt matter what I eat I either have to run to bathroom or pain or indigestion really bad. I asked for help but I get you need to watch what you eat, exercise blahhh blahhh blahh, I do all of this and I am still gaining. What else can I do???? Lost and I do get depressed over it.
