Perjeta & Herceptin Sub Q (shot) feedback requested
Does anybody here have anything to say about this option? I am anxious to have my mediport removed and am thinking of going this route for my post partial mastectomy treatment.
I have heard it's super painful. : (

I had kadcyla due to PCR. Had radiation pneumonitis after round 8, delayed two cycles and went for two additional treatments. Then diagnosed with organizing pneumonia. Few months later, had COVID and diagnosed with organizing pneumonia. My oncologist stopped kadcyla (short 4). One of side effects of kadcyla, it causes lung inflammation for people that had radiation.
Keep in mind, I entered a clinical trial for vaccine to prevent recurrence. So not sure if it’s the combination of these treatments is causing my lungs to get inflammation when I get sick.
Right, I also did my chemo drug that included the Herceptin and Perjeta via my port.
This is specifically for maintenance, another 6 rounds of just the H & P given sub Q.
Had my last round of chemo infusions on Monday, getting my port out with surgery, cant wait!
Oh my gosh! My mistake… After reading this, I reached out to my sister, who corrected what she had told me. They decided against Herceptin/Perjeta combo, which was also going to be given Sub Q. She is getting Hylecta via Sub Q and that is one injection that takes five minutes. I get one infusion of Herceptin only which takes 30 minutes.
