I know the feeling . What also frustrates me is there are a lot of people who have no pain and therefore your family and friends think that you’re exaggerating.

Arghh! My response is that every person and every body respond differently AND feel pain differently. And everyone has different pain tolerance.
After a lifetime of arthritis and fibromyalgia and a lot of joint replacements and orthopedic surgeries, my body is really good at telling me when it is time to stop.
I may look fine, but that doesn't mean I feel fine. And I have NO reluctance to telling people that. One of my "energizer bunny" friends has finally had to start telling people she can't keep up with her teenaged grandkids on outings anymore. She just brings a chair and enjoys people watching.
