Turmeric and black pepper are high in oxalates which cause a reaction in some of us including an inflammatory reaction and joint aches. Many of the "superfoods" are high in oxalates and/or lectins which cause health problems for some people.

Funny, but I have yet to hear that turmeric is a problem for anyone! I realize that oxalates might contribute to some forms of kidney stones, but I've had kidney stones many years ago (before I changed my diet to whole foods organic), and since then I've had no issues. If you happen to be following Dr. Gundry, I think he is misinformed and trying to sell his supplements more than provide evidenced-base research to the public. Dr. Gundry is very anti-lectin, but beans are the common demoninator in the Blue Zones, where people often live to be over 100 without chronic illness. If I were you, I would follow Dr. Michael Greger at https://nutritionfacts.org/
