Has anyone suffered from a sickly sweet taste after folfirinox treatment?
In the days following my husband's second treatment on Wednesday, he's been complaining of a sickly sweet taste in his taste buds and in his throat at all times.
Foods or drinks don't taste different, but he has this lingering sickly sweet taste in his mouth all day long. It's been going on now for 5 days. I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue and if so, what helped?
The night of the treatment, he complained of that taste in his throat. He said he felt like he could taste the chemicals in the back of his throat. He vomited several hours after the treatment.
He also had a fever of 101.2 the night of his treatment. We were instructed to go to MSK for a fever workup. They did a whole bunch of tests, including a chest X-ray. All tests came back negative. We're waiting to talk to the oncologist tomorrow to see what caused the fever. One of the nurses said the fever could have been caused by the oxaliplatin.
Hi @lisn, I moved your questions about side effects of FOLFIRINOX treatment for pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to your earlier discussion where you can connect again with members like @ncteacher @markymarkfl @mimimmx @kjc12 @ch1co2 @jk77.
I'm hoping that they will have tips for dealling with sickly sweet taste that your husband is experiencing. How has the fever been managed? How is he doing? And YOU?
