HI, Had kidney transplant in 1992, still going strong. Diagnosed with squamous cell muscle-invasive cancer of bladder in July 2022. Had radical cystectomy, hysterectomy and ileal conduit. Diagnosed in September 2023 with regional reu=current cancer, two tumours. Require chemo now, but they have chosen Carboplatin and Gemcitabine and not Cisplatin.Anyone been through this and anyone changed chemo if this did not respond adequately? How is your transplant? Did cancer respond to this treatment?I am female, 54 yrs of age.

Hi....I met with my transplant team at MUSC South Carolina...they supported cystectomy over chemotreatment due to reported outcomes. I am waiting for Mayo Jacksonville to schedule my surgery ( ileal conduit). I am sorry to hear your cancer has appeared again. May I ask where? Is your chemo to the body?
I am an almost 62-year-old male. I have good fitness/lifestyle despite 40% lung function.
