@clkurth Your doctor may need to do a culture to see what antibiotics will best address your recurring UTI. And make sure you are taking the correct one for the right amount of time.

What are they currently prescribing for you?

Most recently, Keflex. All cultures say Ecoli. Bactrum and Cipro were not effective. I’ve asked about a routine low dose of Macrobid, but was advised this approach is a last resort since it is hard on the kidneys and can build up a resistance. I’d rather not take heavy antibiotics anyway. They wipe me out.

Fosfomycin, it’s a powder that I have to mix with 3 or 4 ounces of water. It’s a one dose med which I ❤️. I’m allergic to most antibiotics and an arm’s length if not 2, of most meds so finding something that doesn’t make me sicker and that works is a true blessing. And with all those allergies and the constant recurring UTIs they always do a culture.
