I totally agree with you. I eat so many salads and fruit but I'm willing to try and see if this helps. This is the second person that told me her Dr also told her to limit the fiber. Confusing, right?

I know to this day I still have doctors telling me to eat more fiber
I cannot say if this will help you. All I can do is lend you my experience in this for the last 9 years
Last December something happened and I was in a full blown flare-up.
Now I literally refuse to go to the er unless I am left with absolutely no other choice
I have been partial small bowel obstruction since the first surgery
Back to back he flare up last December I was sick for 3 weeks and finally over a 12 hour period I did every home remedy I had, and was on the phone with a friend for 3 hours just in case I passed out from the pain
Luckily the obstruction moved, but I could not get back to a place who felt comfortable eating anything without falling into another flare up
Here is where I changed what I eat against medical advice
I had a colonoscopy to start running the gamut of test to find what was wrong. 2 days later I visited my dad and I went to dinner and had a half of kobacha squash ( it was delicious). An hour later I could feel the physical systems start and three days later I was in a full blown flare up. That was when I researched not eating fiber. I don’t eat fiber but keep in to 10 grams a day
I still have some problems with my colon because the stool doesn’t move as well. I’m working on that, but the bloating in my small bowel is basically gone, I don’t feel full all the time (I do eat lots of small meals ) and my general wellness is back
Here is my advice yes listen to the doctors but also listen to your body. Keep a good journal and don’t let anyone tell you that you should eat something because it is the norm
The medical community doesn’t know enough about upper gi issues and you have a life to live

I think there are two kinds of fiber, soluble and insoluble. If I remember correctly, soluble is found in fruits and veggies, insoluble in wheat products. I just like getting fiber mostly from fruit and veggies, and have a bowl of muesli every day that contains insoluble fiber - and also flaxseed for its Omega 3 antioxidant.

I generally agree that too much insoluble fiber can make constipation worse. Miralax seems to help with that and it's very easy to take and has no taste, just mix with water.
