Tricompartmental degenerative disease of knees

Everything I was able to find when searching for tricompartmental degenerative disease labeled it as osteoarthritis, or a wearing down of the cartilage within your knee in multiple areas. The main difference between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid is osteo is a result of wear and tear or injury, whereas rheumatoid is an autoimmune disease.

@lharrison74, is this something you have been diagnosed with and how are your knees doing? In my same search, it seems the end result of most of these diagnoses is a knee replacement. Have this been discussed with you?

I got my X-rays and I see my Dr on the 3rd for the good news. I already have rheumatoid arthritis so I was trying to figure out if it was now in my knees too.

My doctor said this is osteoarthritis for the win.

That was my diagnosis which the doctor told me the cause is osteoarthritis. I had both knees replaced when it started impacting my ability to walk
