Where do you want to grow old?

I find this interesting. Can you tell us more about the cohousing community, how you found it, and how it operates?
We spend our winters in a mixed community of RV's, tiny homes, 1 & 2 BR mobiles homes. Residents range in age from their 30's through 80's. My daughters have suggested trying to form such a community up north where we live six months of the year, and would probably settle if we could no longer travel.

See Cohousing.org for details and classified ads formals and rentals around the country. Some communities are very expensive because of the housing market they are in but that’s not true of all. We live in a 40 unit community. Parking is on the perimeter so the houses face each other across an “pedway”, and there is a village feel. We have a community house for potlucks, socializing and meetings. We join teams to manage the upkeep cooperatively. We pay HOA dues for common expenses.
