I went in January and February because it was easier to get an appointment then. I highly recommend the Mayo. I saw neurologist and numerous other specialist to diagnose or rule out a very rare, none treatable brain condition. I also had a brain tumor. I spent a week the first time and went back to St. Mary's hospital for a Gamma knife procedure. I was there for a week. After I came home my neurologist kept in contact with me and looked at all if my tests done in my home town.
Unfortunately I had a stroke when I came home (not their fault) and had to have emergency surgery.
I could have gone back there but was unable to travel. Everything about the Mayo was amazing. The doctors, volunteers, restaurants, shops, beautiful artwork and baby grand pianos that were very comforting. I was told once you are a patient always a patient.
I am having some complicated blood issues that my doctors are unable to diagnose. I am thinking of going back for that. I wish you the best no matter what you decide.
