Is breast architectural distortion reason to panic?
I had my breast screening mammogram yesterday and it showed focal asymmetry/architectural distortion. I have an ultrasound scheduled but I am a diagnosed generalized anxiety patient therefore am struggling with a panic response. I really would appreciate some input into this diagnoses so I can get through the waiting and panic. Thank you so much.

I’m actually going for a second opinion at an actual breast care center this week. I hope I get some answers and hopefully a doctor who cares! Thanks for asking!
This has been the most stressful month of my life and I hope I get some sort of relief when I go for my appointment.

1 ReactionThey didn’t do much so nothing really. They did a normal breast exam and told me to come back in December for a mammogram. I’m having more pain and I can actually feel lumps now so I scheduled a visit with primary care to see what they think..
Hoping this visit helps in some way.

2 ReactionsHi tinksmom, did you have the MRI because they found architectural distortion on your mammogram first?
Hi Randy36, did you have the biopsy right after AD was found in your mammogram, or did your radiologist send you for the MRI before biopsy?
Hi @llu983, how are you doing? Was architectural distortion found on testing you had recently? How are you doing?
@randy36 this was so helpful! thank you for sharing your experience.
I’ve always been told I have dense breast tissue so when I was told about architectural distortion my head is spinning.
My radiologist is siding on the side of caution also so they’ve scheduled a 3D mammogram needle biopsy and I’m trying not to panic.
