ANCA Vasculitis: Side effects of 60 mg of prednisone a day?

It is a nasty drug. So sorry.
WhenI was diagnosed with ANCA Vasculitis -Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis, I was only on 60 mg of Prednisone for 2 weeks before starting to taper down. 60-50-40-etc.
I was also on Rituxan infusions almost immediately. I wonder why your Rheumatologist isn't trying to get you off Prednisone more quickly... it's worth asking the question,,, or getting another opinion.
This is not a disease where one can be passive. Question everything.
Sorry for what you are going through. With the right treatment it gets better.

When you tapered down did you start feeling better?
@purehope2022 I started retuximab about one year ago getting 2 infusions every 6 months. I was on methotrexate a year prior and it was terrible and I have 4 surgeries for tracheal and subglottal stenosis. I have another infusion this Friday and feel like I may be having a flare up (although much less severe). I am wondering when retuximab will be be effective and if remission will happen.

Thank you!! Gives me hope. Hope you are better. Said because kidney numbers still weren’t looking like what he wanted them to be. Go to rheumatologist on Tuesday. Hopefully he will start tapering me off of them.
