Bulge in middle after colon resection

I had my PCP look at it and she said it was probably a hernia because it's located directly on the incision site. There's nothing to indicate an infection. She said to not do anything at this point. I had a drainage bag for two weeks after surgery so the seroma isn't likely.

I'm not happy with being uncomfortable and with the look of my abdomen, but more importantly, I have read that not doing anything can make the hernia larger and more challenging to repair. I'm not done with my decision of what to do yet. Need to talk to colorectal surgeon who did the resection next.

Definitely follow up with them! Good decision. I know the difference between seroma and hernia from what I am told by my sergeon as that the hernia would be soft and squishy and seromas are hard. Seromas can come back… so they are still monitoring mine. I keep getting a painful bulge feeling now that is above that area that I am worried about. It comes and goes. I think an ultrasound would be helpful and might ask about that. Good luck!!!
