Follow up surgery for PNET
I had a distal pancreatomy with splenectomy on March 10th for NET in pancreas. All was well. Good recovery.
Went on Monday for my 6months post op Ct and now they saw a 2.2. X 5.3 x 2.1 enhancing lobulated lesión inferior to the gastric body. Now that’s big enough how in the world did they miss it when they went in for surgery or my question was it small and it grew fast. Recommendation of PET CT with Ga -68 to see what it is. I’m scared.

The first time they found tumor in pancreas they saw it in th ct scan and confirmed with and MRI. No other testing was done. This time they found this tumor inferior to gastric body at CT follow up scan after 6 months from surgery. There was nothing there and now 6 months later they found this in the lymph nodes inferior to gastric body.
And how do you know the new tumor is a NET?
And the old one for that matter?
I don’t know it’s a NET. Never said that
The one that was in the portion of the pancreas pathology repor says it was a NET
I am just trying to put the pieces of your puzzle together. They are not fitting together for me. Maybe it is because I never had surgery or an MRI. I went from GA-68 scan to biopsy then started chemo in about a week.
That was 8/22 when I got diagnosed with a pancreatic NET that spread to my liver. I was on CAPTEM for a year and now I just take cap (capecitabine).
