Yup I have afib episodes that land me in the ER, and am completing 2 years.
The first week, when I did full dose, I had an episode. Could have been a coincidence. But I stopped, talked to endos and cardiologists, and decided to restart at a low dose and ramp up to let my body adjust. I ended up doing 6 or 7 "clicks" out of 8 on the Tymlos pen, and had excellent gains. I am doing full dose this month with no problems.
I also have low blood pressure and Tymlos can lower blood pressure further. At first I monitored with a home blood pressure cuff. And hydrated along with some salty food. But I stopped being concerned at some point.
Forteo really bothered my heart and lungs. Very fast heart beat, short of breath. This was before I had ever had afib. I could not take it. So grateful for Tymlos.
I don't know about interactions with Flecainide. Drugs.com says there are none but a pharmacist would know. Are you on blood thinners?
Thank you! This information is incredibly helpful to me as I don’t seem to be getting good guidance from my PC doctor. I was not aware that you could regulate the dosage, this makes sense and eases my anxiety about starting another new drug. I do take a low dose aspirin but no other blood thinner. I see my Cardiologist in two weeks and will then start on Tymlos and see how it goes. And I will be monitoring my blood pressure as you suggested. Again, thank you!
