Bland Liver Embolization complication
6/13/23 bland liver embolization 2 weeks later hospitalization with severe pain and spasms pain has gotten less but still debilitating CT shows hepatic infraction along the distal aspect of the left lobe which is where the procedure was done. Anyone know what I can do to help this situation until it gets better

@sophiarose, I'm sorry to read of your treatment complications. I'm tagging fellow NETs members @trivia @jhilbish @gaylejean @bluedane @t26 who may have experience with bland liver embolization or hepatic infarction to share with you.
Sophia, has your care team suggested any treatment for the liver infarction?
No
They say it should get better in time
I am getting better I wish it wasn’t taking so long
I had 3 and it was a nightmare after with the pain for about a week. It should get better so hang in there I know it's awful. Take care

Thank you all!!
I am finally 7 weeks after the procedure ok
Thank goodness no more pain
I have been told by 4 doctors that it just takes time to get over the hepatic infraction.
The 4th doctor my primary care doctor took the time to explain which made me fully understand the situation and why I was in so much pain as well as why it was difficult to breathe
Again thank you
I also had three and the pain was awful. About 2-3 weeks and it will subside.
Has anyone else ever got an Enlarged liver after a bland embolization?
I also got a hepatic infrac after the procedure
I am looking for answers and maybe a good diet to help my liver along
Thank you
I am incredibly interested in the responses to your inquiry! I had a transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) with very little resulting negative side effects and a reasonable reduction in the large tumor. However, 5 months later, I am very distended, bloated, uncomfortable. Next month they run new markers. We will see then. I also receive a monthly Sandostatin injection. Not sure about the benefits. Very interested in your progress! You are in my thoughts.
Thank you
I have an appointment today with my liver surgeon
Hopefully I will know more
Keep us posted. You're in my prayers, Sophia.
