Personally, if its Voltaren gel, I would put it all over the area. I am a big fan of Voltaren gel and the Physician's Assistant told me to apply it 4 times a day to the site that is hurting. I apply all around and on the area of my spine that has degeneration & arthritis and I use a Bed Buddy heat pack. Ask your doctor and praying for you.
