IBS: Stomach pain, fatigue and joint pain won't go away, Thoughts?

Posted by johnbluffside @johnbluffside, Aug 30, 2023

Dx as IBS and have tried numerous Dr , dietician , therapist , the abdominal pain , body fatique and joint painful won’t go away. Have had a flair up for 3 years now.
Ibguard, probiotics , activia … nothing helps .
Dx years ago with peptic ulcers and cauterized and put on rx which made me very sick. I now am experiencing throat burning and wondering if ulcers are now acting up. Costly procedure and can’t take rx.
Anyone have suggestions for any of this? Ulcers or abdominal pain
Every test possible with labs all ok . Only thing is my lab shows inflammation increased.

I’m so sorry 😢…
The weird thing is I can’t lose a pound ( and need to lose 30 lbs last 15 yrs ). I started this horrific journey 10 years ago . I don’t eat much at all either . My friend said , when your body is in starvation mode ( when you don’t or can’t eat much ), it stores fat and that’s why I don’t lose weight.
I just am always in gastric distress so hate eating . The 1000’s of deep wet sewer tasting belching and churning is non stop . Even if empty stomach .
When I do eat ( we cook healthy dinners at home only ), still suffer .
I hope this new 6 th Gastro I’ll see can help !
Do you see a Gastro Dr.?

I’m sorry that you are so miserable- I understand, have been there myself for many years. I hope your new GI will be more helpful.
Did you consider going to Mayo?
By the way, you are not hopeless. Being sick 24/7 makes one miserable.
I also went to a therapist to talk about always being sick. I didn’t want to talk to the family about my misery all the time. It just feels good to vent.

IBS over 35 yrs. Fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s and CFS for 35 yrs. Diagnosed a year ago with Hiatal Hernia, Esophagitis, and gastritis. Bought the book The Acid Watchers Diet and joined their Facebook group for recipes and lifestyle advice. The diet has healed and helped all the digestion. BUT it’s going to have to be my way of eating for the rest of my life or it will flair. However the Fibro, Fatigue and Hashimoto’s have no cure. Avoiding sugar, alcohol, citrus, chocolate etc has helped all pain a lot . Soaking in medical grade (no essential oil added) epsom salt everyday has been a wonderful alternative to medications which I can’t take. Just too hard on digestion. I hope you find your perfect plan.
