Has any Voltaren gel user noticed a bad taste in their mouth after application? I used Voltaren gel for the second time ever, on my feet (osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis). After about an hour, I noticed a strange and unpleasant taste in my mouth. I haven't yet noticed other side effects.

A doctor approved my trying Voltaren gel and I used it exactly as recommended in the instructions. If "very little" of this NSAID is absorbed into the system, how can it cause a taste?

More importantly, does anyone know of a counter-agent to erase the taste? Blechhhhhhhh...

I believe you because we are all so different. I have used Voltaren Gel for a long time for Fibromyalgia & Arthritis and I have not noticed any taste issues. I would ask your pharmacist about it if I was you. Your body does not absorb much of this NSAID in your system as you said.
Have you tried getting another tube of it to see if it makes a difference? Blessings.....

@sln I have used Voltaren Extra Strength gel but never on the soles of my feet (although I have used Vick’s Vapo Rub on my soles. Never had a strange taste in my mouth using either - but perhaps the soles of the feet do absorb it into the system. Or perhaps it was coincidental …?
