Posted by westcom @westcom, Aug 13, 2023

Has anyone experienced balance issues as s side effect of Lyrica? I just increased dose to 100 mg 3x/day and suddenly feel weak and unbalanced.

I didn’t experience balance issues but did experience considerable brain fog, memory issues, just general cloudiness which has been really frustrating. It also alters my depth perception so I sometimes park 3 feet away when pulling in but I can’t tell until I get out of the car.

I had the same brain fog etc. experience with Lyrica. Went back on Gabapentin. It works better for me. One thing I noticed is when you stop or lower these meds there is a rebound effect where your symptoms get worse than they actually are. Makes you think you can’t switch meds or quit.
It dies down after a few days. At least it did for me.

Stick with LDN - it’ll take 2-3 months to fully feel the effect but it does work.

What is LDN??

From gabapentin to Lyrica. Due to age and diabetes I maxed out on Gabapentin dosage but the max limits allowable for Lyrica were larger so I switched easily to it.

I was told that anyone taking Lyrica if you need to get new health insurance taking that drug the insurance companies won't give you coverage. I don't take it but wonder why they won't insure anyone taking Lyrica or any anti-conlvulsive drugs.

I take Lyrica and my Humana insurance covers it. Shouldn’t be a problem; it’s a common drug.

I have been on pregabalan since 2021 and it definitely has helped me with my pain from Multiple Myeloma

It seems to affect some people and not others. Glad you get relief. What dosage do you take?

I have similar experience with Lyrica. Thanks for sharing this. I know now I'm not alone with these side effects.
