I found this meme on FB and it really brought a smile! I hope it does the same for you.

Thanks for finding this. I once tried to explain to a physician my opinion of expressing a qualitative phenomenon with quantitative means and he was downright rude, presumably because my opinion threatened a cultural truism. Great pain is symphonic, rarely if ever silent, rumbling in the bass register when not shrieking with penetrating peaks, and perceived over time defying enumeration. Not Bach, but a troupe of monkeys clattering about the orchestra pit. Numbers, however, are a fiction of the business model, and I have never bothered to express an opinion until now.

"Not Bach," you say... I wish! But WAGNER... Today my pain is Wagner + the monkeys.
Thank you for your most amusing and articulate response!

....agree about the “out of ten scale”. - my 8 might be same pain level as spouse and he will say 3...... however not sure if Emerge dept at local hospital will appreciate the portraits 🙂

I never understood how a number could be put on our pain. And what is an accurate way to figure it?

Just want to clarify it's not "mine." Facebook meme I just shared it.
I have another issue:
I have different levels of pain in different parts of my body! For that, I'm thinking Salvador Dali!

And some days I'm a Jackson Pollack!

@mikaylar
You’re absolutely right, it’s ridiculously hard, you’re in severe pain and they’re sitting there looking at you, asking in a scale…….🙄🫣😳

@joybo99, I appreciate the artist’s rendition of the dreaded pain scale and the ensuing discussion.

I like to reply, Crappy. That prevents any further questions about pain. Sidegate
