I also have scalp itch (have tried all kinds of different shampoos, to no avail) and itching on my lower thumbs, below the joints. Sometimes I also get itching in weird spots on my feet - for no reason.
I didn't even think about it being related to the peripheral neuropathy. Thanks so much for this conversation - it helps to know the possible cause.

I have neuropathic itching started in scalp and is now all over my body 24-7 since January 2025. I had Covid that caused viral encephalitis in hospital x 30 days had seizure when admitted to hospital and damaged my right cognitive brain damage. Benadryl helps with some of the itching but still there and now have a dry mouth and lips from that. I was given nalprexone low doss. Was given by skin group but he refuses to prescribe again. Cerave itch cream very little relief. Please help!
