Is there anyone who was a bariatric patient who had hip replacement surgery. I am trying to get my bmi to a 40 or 45 max so that I will become a candidate for the surgery. Extreme pain everyday.

I am a 73 yr old bariatric patient. I had my left knee surgery performed done this past November. However my surgeon will not perform my right surgery because my belly would cover the incision area. I have tried and am losing weight slowly; but I now go out every two weeks because the pain is intolerable. My Dr wants me to go down to a bmi of 33.

I was seriously thinking of the posterior rather than the anterior procedure, but there are too many restrictions.

I am determined to get this done hopefully by the end of the year.
