Like your wife, I’ve read a lot of people do well with Duloxetine. I have not tried that, as I started with Gabapentin and I’ve been in a tolerable state for 7 years now. We started at a low dose, 100 mg, then gradually increased to where it got to the most beneficial level. Everybody is different with side effects, but maybe this medicine could be discussed with your wife’s doctor?
Hello @voces, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with Debbie @dbeshears1 and others. I know this has to be difficult for you also seeing your wife in pain and wanting to help. Probably the best thing you can do to help your wife is the same thing we do for our own neuropathy symptoms - learn as much as you can about the condition and her symptoms and what treatments are available, which is what you are doing now.
Here are a couple of sites that can help you learn more and also has a list of treatments:
--- Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy: https://www.foundationforpn.org/living-well/
--- Neuropathy Commons: https://neuropathycommons.org/neuropathy/neuropathy-overview.
The Neuropathy Support Group has many discussions where members have shared on different neuropathy topics that you might find helpful. You can find a list of all of the discussions here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/neuropathy/.
Is the neuropathy pain mostly in the feet or legs?
