I'm 82 and living in the hills of California on 22 acres. I'm 8 miles from town and live alone. My son comes out several days a week to check up on what I need done.
I'm 20 miles from the ocean. My view is of mountains and meadows with oak trees up to 500 years old. I don't want to move on, ever! I just hope that I don't have a fall like my mother in law did at the age of 93, living alone. She broke her hip emptying the garbage and had to go live with my husband's sister.
