I had TKR in April and will be having scar tissue scraped out of knee joint with arthroscopy soon. I had been using krill oil and Turmeric as both are natural anti inflammatories. I was also using oil of frankincense topically on my knee for stiffness. The NOW brand that is mixed with jojoba oil worked great- instant relief! After doing more reading on the frankincense, ginger, cinnamon, clove, peppermint, lavender and a few other oils, they are all anti inflammatories. Unfortunately, preparing for this surgery upcoming, I can’t use any of the above. Anti inflammatories are natural blood thinners and I am missing them greatly right now. Hope your stiffness isn’t due to internal scar tissue like mine. Most of the time, I feel like I’m walking with a wooden leg and the most I can bend is 90. And that is uncomfortable after a few minutes. Hope some of my remedies help you!

@chiefswife Hi, and best of luck on your surgery. Wanted to ask about frankincense. You use for stiffness on your knee. My back gets stiff ( muscles tense ). Do you think using frankincense topically on my back area would be helpful. My muscles spasm so tight that it pulls a rib out of alignment. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. TIA
