Can you describe the pain? The vagal nerves carry signals between your brain, heart and digestive system.

The pain is in middle of lower chest. My Gastroenterologist told me it was vagus pain. Pain is severe and I get very dizzy and weak. It happens when I am more tired and stressed. Doctor said the esophagus becomes inflamed because of the acid and that causes the vagus nerve pain.

I was told the opposite...I have pain there..my esophagus was inflamed and aggravated the vegus nerve

I think that is what my doctor meant. Is your pain really severe and do you have weakness and dizziness with yours? They only give me acid reflux medication to help with this. Do you notice more attacks when tired or stressed?

ENT Dr. Kaufman has written about vagus nerve and GERD/LRP. I have no experience with this topic and whether her advice is good. But here it is in case it is of any help to you: https://jamiekoufman.com/category/vagus-nerve/

Thank you very much for Dr Kaufman’s information on vagus nerve. There were parts of of article that did refer to symptoms that I have. From the article there has not been a lot of intensive studies on the vagus nerve and with the complexity of it, I hope there will be more studies done in the future.

My vagus pain with acid reflux is so severe that I feel dizzy and have to sit down or hold on to something.

The multi-part article also referred to taking drugs (gabapentin plus one I cannot remember) to address the vagus nerve issue. Could you talk to your doctor about that?
