I went to Sanford, NC to have the REMS Echo Light scan. So happy I did. Yes, I have Osteoporosis, but with Ultrasound vs. radiation, the tech (James) could SEE my bones were very strong. I’m 74 and I have a skeleton of a 54 year old woman. I’ve always exercised (weight bearing) maintained a healthy diet and taken supplements. Results are — NO meds. That could change as I age, but I’ll continue to fight the good fight against Osteoporosis and those horrific meds. I did start doing HRT about a month ago. Dr. Bush is the orthopedic doc in Sanford and he explained the results of the test to me patiently and in great detail. What a kind and caring gentleman. He was happy I am on HRT.
Definitely see Dr. Bush!
Good morning pennykj,
I spoke to the nurse in Dr. Bush's office at Central Carolina Orthopedics. She said the Dr. sees out of state patients on Thursdays. The cost is 150 for the ultrasound. He sees you in person first, but there's a follow-up call to discuss results. The nearest airport is Raleigh Durham. The office is about 40 minutes away. The address is 1139 Carthage, Suite 101, Sanford, NC. (425) 503-4840. There is also REMS group on Facebook. Hope this helps.
