Yes...I have. I've been trying to figure out if one of my meds is causng this. I was taking Lispro and changed it to Humalog. This did help. So far that's all I've done. Being a type 1 diabetic sucks. I was 26 when this happened to me. I'm 65 now
Have your thyroid tested. Hives frequently are tied to thyroid disease
I have type 2 (well controlled) no meds or insulin. I started getting swelling in my lips, and face last January along with itchy hives. The hives are in small areas, but in different places on my upper torso I also have graves and Hashimoto’s. I was allergy tested recently and I’m not allergic to anything. But found out could be from my autoimmune.
I have not been able to find any information relating itching/hives to thyroid disease. Do you have a link?
I havent looked in years. But there is info on it on the web. Your dr should know this. Noone knew when i was goi g thru
I've been diagnosed for about the same and only now recently my skin as been itchy in some areas. What i have found out is due to having dry skin. I went to my skin doctor and they've told me when I take shower to not to dry my skin very dry but pat dry my skin and be sure to put on lotion. Sometimes when we take showers the soap we use also dry our skin out as well as as we dry our skin with a towel has something to do with it as well. Not to mention we are diabetics where many of us already will have dry skin.
I see a dermatologist for my skin issues, particularly Psoriasis, but I also have other random skin flareups and itching. I use Clobetasol cream or liquid, depending on the site on my body. I also use daily Cereve Psoriasis body cream. It’s extra moisturizing and really soothes the skin. My itching is way down since I started using this. It was recommended by my dermatologist.
I am type I, but know that type I and II suffer with skin issues. I’d let your Endocrinologist know about unusual itching, as it can be a symptom of other conditions, like neuropathy or anxiety. There are meds that can help.
I believe the technical name for this itching is called Pruritus. My skin doc put me on Doxycycline for a month as my itching seems to be confined to head, scalp, eyes, nose, and face. I have used Cereve in the past and it is an excellent product. I was tested for allergies with none present. I see a Mayo doc next month for his assesment. Fortunately to date, I have not experienced any hive issues.
