I had terrible menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, irritability, etc). My gyno prescribed 37.5 mg. I now question that decision. My husband died six years ago and I was really struggling. He increased to 75mg. I have put on over 30 pounds even though I eat healthy and exercise. Has taken me a while to realize it is related to Effexor. I have gone from 75 to 37.5 in a few weeks alternating the two as recommended by my doctor. I do not want to go back to 75 to relieve symptoms but I am having terrible naseau. I can deal with the moods and emotional problems (I have been through much worse), but the naseau is killing me. Any advice?

I am still at 37.5. Began at 300. I am going very carefully. The best advice from my dr is don’t sweat it. Go down by emptying a capsule. Open it up and let some grains out. That got me from 75 to 37.5. No rush w health. I am now taking a few out of 37.5 but don’t care if it takes 6 months. A bit at a time. Feeling better but I know what it’s like to not have it and I’m not wanting any nightmares. So easy does it. It will happen.
