Does anyone in this group have a recommendation for a spinal specialist in Austin Texas area? My 25 year old daughter is having severe pain caused by pars defect from high school cheerleading. Thanks!

My spine surgeon just moved to Houston Texas and he is awesome! Worth an 2 hour drive. Only 5 star ratings across social media. And he’s a real person too. His name is Eric Klineberg. I’ve had 3 surgeries with him with tons of crazy complications. He did adult and pediatric surgery at UC Davis for many years and is now in charge of spine surgery at a university hospital in Houston Texas. https://www.memorialhermann.org/doctors/orthopedic-surgeons/dr-eric-klineberg-md-1528163003

One thing that’s nice since Covid is many docs will do video appointments these days if you send them the MRIs. He’s so awesome, if I have any more issues I will fly to Texas from CA just to see him.

There are two I recommend. Dr Matthew J. Geck, MD is well know for complex spinal surgery. He is an orthopedic surgeon. I have heard many good comments about him.. My experience was with Dr Mark Burnett. He is a neurosurgeon. He completed a revision on my cervical spine after a failed fusion with a surgeon in Dallas. I was very happy with my outcome with Dr Burnett. I would suggest seeing both for opinions. I learned of Dr Geck after I met Dr Burnett. I would see Dr Burnett again for any further spinal issues.
