Forteo Costs
I will be starting Forteo soon. My medicare plan D covers both Forteo brand and Teriparatide generic. My monthly cost is roughly $1500/mos. Is anyone aware of additional programs to cover the cost? I'm not eligible for the Forteo Savings card as I'm on medicare. Nor am I eligible for the Lilly Foundation program as my income is over $78k.
Second question. From what I've read so far it looks like the cost of needles is not covered in the plan costs, rather an additional cost outside the plan. If this is correct, where are you purchasing these needles and what is the ball park cost?
I'm hoping my questions will help others as well.

You can get it through R X Advocates. Even though Lilly doesn't give it to people with Medicare, RX Advocates can get it for you for 70.00 a month. The price will depend on your yearly income. Their phone number is 1-844-559-8332, and the website is RX Advocates.com. I hope this helps.
Go through RX Advocates; they help you get it with the Lilly program even though they don't have Medicare. I got it for 70.00 a month based on my yearly income, I have to go through some paperwork, but well worth it. I hope this information helps. I forgot to mention this includes pens, needles, and alcohol pads
me75, thanks for RX Advocates info. I'll look into it.
Do they do the same for tylmos? I'm on Medicare, aetna health and silver script for meds
Yes, they do.
leeosteo, thanks for the advice on the late enrollment penalty. I was told my penalty would be 5$ a month. But I've already saved 9$ a month ( the cheapest plan) for 7 years. Now the democrats have begun the process of opening negotations for pricing by Medicare. In ten years or so their might be fair pricing on these drugs.
The Forteo pens are $300 in Colombia. I've never been to Bogota.
Has anything worked out for you? I'm hoping.
what is rxadvocates?
I'm looking into RX Advocates. This was suggested by me75.
They are closed until Tuesday. I'm just telling you because the music will make you feel crazy AND they haven't left a recording. I think you make toooo much money, like me. I have my fingers crossed for you.
RX Advocates works with Lilly programs to help you get it even though you have Medicare. without RX Advocates you can't get the price down low enough cause Lilly only .accepts commercial insurance
