I was the Mary that was on the ZOOM call with "smart patients" last night and I can tell you that anytime they mess with the intestines you will have pain. It could be a little of what you are eating but mostly just getting inside the body causes scar tissue which in turn can cause pain. Just be patient and run the marathon and not a race on your recovery.

Hi @hogfarmer Mary, so glad to see your post and the help you offer to @mikezaz and others. How are you doing? How is your husband doing?

Hi Mary... Gary here, from our twice weekly Zoom calls. Great seeing you on the call... and Mike as well. I'm sure most of us thought Mike was doing well for how early on he is post-op. This is a crazy ass surgery... and it is sad to say that 5 months is very early. I know I personally saw tremendous improvements in my second year post-op vs my first year. But there was a lot of misery to go thru first... watching and waiting for my body to adapt to its new geometry and functioning without those vagus nerves. Just a crazy journey.

Be well,

Gary
