I had a bladder prolapse repaired last year. The surgery was done by the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida. They did a purse string seam to keep the bladder up, and I did not have any problems or any UTI since.
I purchase a Bede seat for my bathroom, and think that this helps in keeping UTI's at bay, because after every bathroom visit, my lower parts are thoroughly flushed and cleaned with water.
