I had no idea it took that long. But I have been tapering slowly since January, so 7 months so far. I'm on the lowest dose they make 0.125mg and I don't think it has any affect at all, and I believe the terrible insomnia is a withdrawal symptom as is my jitteriness. Blood pressure is spiking as well. I keep telling myself my brain is healing and rewiring itself but when I don't sleep all night, I sure do miss that little blue pill assuring me I would sleep easily and all night.

Monitor your blood pressure regularly. Stroke is a potential side effect of quitting. Hence the long taper? Try melatonin for sleep. Try Indica marijuana. I live in Illinois, so it’s legal and it helps immensely. I struggle to understand why it is not more regularly available. It seems to be utter nonsense.

You may very well be one of lucky ones and not have any lingering effects after you stop medication. But many are like me and almost 6 months off the med. still notice some lingering effects. Can take up to a year in some people.
