I was diagnosed on 2018 with BE. I too was scared at first. Change your diet to low acid, don't eat 4hrs before bedtime. Raise your head board 6". Avoid fried fatty foods, Italian, Mexican, booze and no soda or carbonated drink. Don't smoke cigs or weed. Drink unsweetened almond milk which is alkaline. Decaf green tea is good along with low acid coffee like healthwise. Avoid lemons, limes, tomatoes and avoid vinegar products. Exercise and lose weight if needed. Drink water. I get scoped again in October to check mine. A good book to read is " The Acid Watcher diet".

I agree with rigleman's suggestions but would skip decaf tea, which still has caffeine, and go easy on any kind of coffee, because both of these items still have caffeine. I carry herbal teabags with me because many herbal teas contain other acidic items, like mint or lemon.
Also, avoid chocolate. The Acid Watcher Diet book has all this information.
