Try B6 100mg/day (no more). I find it helps with mood, which may help with memory.
I have had memory issues due to covid for 3.5 years. My first covid symptom was memory loss. My memory was imperfect but stable over the next few years, but by December 2022 my memory and other symptoms hit a crisis. The earliest appointment I could get with a neurologist for my memory was 6 months away! I finally got to see the neurologist in June for my memory issues. Two days later, I was at my desk, working remotely from home, and I had a tonic clonic seizure (first seizure ever). I was taken to the ER where I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and put on anti seizure meds (Keppra). Keppra had awful side effects, including severe depression, so I don’t recommend it. I started the B6 to counter the mood effects of the Keppra, and within an hour of taking B6 my mood was almost back to normal.
I don’t know if it is the B6 or the anti seizure meds, but ironically, my memory is significantly improved since my seizure! My memory is now close to normal, the best it has been since covid.
I credit the B6 with helping my memory, but you never know - it could be the Keppra. I have seen research that 1 in 100 Covid patients may go on to develop seizures or epilepsy. Epilepsy also includes cognition/memory issues, so there appears on surface anyway some overlap of symptoms. My neurologist happens to specialize in epilepsy and memory. Frustrating, but there is still a lot we do not know about covid.
I’m sure there’s a lot we don’t know about COVID but what we do know …it is a terrible virus that causes all kinds of problems! I am trying just about everything out there to try and get back to pre-COVID which was Dec.2020. Think I am making progress..Physical and respiratory therapy seems to help and also LDN and methylene blue along with lots of vitamins, minerals, etc.
Praying for all Long COVID people!
