I had a bilateral mastectomy January of this year. I had cancer in my left breast, they removed lymph nodes in my left breast. Then I was tested for BRCA and it came back positive. But the problem I’m facing is ever since my surgery my fibromyalgia has been the worst ever. I’m taking medicine for it but it doesn’t seem to work. Also incision is still extremely sore, in my sternum area I have looks like a small breast, ugh 😩. Is there anyone that can relate??? So happy you’re doing fine now. This journey we’re on is long and hard sometimes. But we are all warriors and by the Grace of God he’s getting us through this .God bless

Hey there!
Any trauma and or stress to your body can certainly exasperate your fibro symptoms.
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2010. 2006 breast cancer diagnosis and I had my surgery.
2006-2007 chemotherapy & radiation.
Looking back, I probably had RA prior to my cancer diagnosis. I had symptoms but it was attributed to the chemo I took 🤷‍♀️ until I couldn’t stand the pain any more and my PCP did a thorough exam and blood work that revealed a Rheumatoid Factor of 56.
My RA is moderate and well controlled, but any physical trauma or even PT will send me into a flare.
It will take time to heal from your surgery. I suggest speaking with your Rheumatologist. Perhaps he can refer you to a pain management specialist, that will work closely with you while you continue your PT and healing from the B/C surgery.
Sending healing thoughts & prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
