There are MTHFR genes that will cause B6 levels to be high in blood but low in the cells, They are CT(677C>T) and AA(1298A>). I have one and I am in the midst of trying to figure whether supplementation or the gene is causing my neuropathy(like your daughter's) suffering. The problem is that too low B6 or too high B6 levels will cause the same symptoms. There is a blood test and saliva test for the gene. Read more at easy-immune-health.com. This was very interesting for me. My Vitamin B-6 is off the charts and the highest ever see by a neurologist who has been practicing for 15 years plus. Why is it so high? The question of the day is no one knows. A Google search indicated some meds that might bring it down, so will see next month with another reading. Medicare will not pay for the test!
