I have hip bursitis and osteoarthritis in my left hip. I will have a THR in September and am hoping the bursitis does not flare up.
Have you considered that you could be experiencing bursitis (which I have found can be as painful as the osteoarthritis)?

That could be a possibility. I will bring it up to the next surgeon I see. I think the treatment might be the same as I have been trying: ice, rest, injections, OTC meds?
