worsening symptoms after mengingioma craniotomy

Posted by trpj95 @trpj95, Jun 14, 2023

I had a craniotomy for grade I meningioma 6 wks. ago. They didn’t remove much tumor around optic nerve & critical arteries. I do have a bad cataract in my right eye. I have worsening symptoms & new symptoms. I am so scared it won’t improve. Anyone else experience this type of thing?

I had a craniotomy on Feb 28 for a meningioma , thought to be benign, pathology came back malignant.
Turned out to be a solitary fibrous tumor of the central nervous system, WHO grade 3.
Very rare.
I was in shock.
6 weeks of daily radiation.
End of June, Pet scan - no metastasized
, MRI - 6/28- good, small aneurysm - will watch.
Will have PET and MRI. Every 3 months.
I am walking 3 miles s as day, doing yoga and eating healthy.
Determined to beat this Cancer.
Feeling good, small issues with left foot . Tumor was on right side of brain.

My husband had a craniotomy for removal of a chondrosacroma of the skull . The tumor occurred again 27
years later again . He lost his hearing in one ear and ear drum on the second surgery , so they could get to tumor . Unfortunately this past surgery , they could not remove it all , due to it being close to the curated artery . After a long recovery , he still gets dizzy and his vision has gotten worse . He had radiation the first time around and cannot have it again . Chemo does not respond to it . So now we wait and get scan frequently and blood work . We had amazing doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital . It came back a 2 this time . Very worried for him and scared . Has anyone had this type of tumor removed ? May everyone on here be well. I pray 🙏 for all.
